2025 has been a year of change for the specialty retailer of home decor and gifts known formerly as Kirkland’ s, Inc. A name change in June to The Brand House Collective signified a major step in the company’ s transformation.“ The Brand House Collective is more than a new name – it’ s a bold declaration of where we’ re headed. We’ re aligning our identity with our vision to become a multi-brand merchandising, supply chain and retail operator- and backing it with decisive actions to strengthen our foundation: reducing excess inventory, closing underperforming locations, optimizing real estate assets, and enhancing talent across the organization. We are building a leaner, flatter and performanceled organization- driven by transformation, anchored in accountability, and powered by new ideas that we believe will deliver results,” said Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective, at the time of the announcement.
Amy Sullivan noted that it became clear that the company’ s business model needed to evolve when Kirkland’ s, Inc. partnered with Beyond, Inc., the owner of Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, buybuy Baby, and other related brands and websites as well as a blockchain asset portfolio. Beyond, Inc. acquired a significant portion of Kirkland’ s stock in February, resulting in a 40 percent ownership stake. Just four months later, in May, Beyond, Inc. expanded its strategic investment in Kirkland’ s Home, with Marcus Lemonis, Beyond’ s Executive Chairman and Principal Executive Officer, commenting in a press release that this represented another step in its vision to create a family of trusted, iconic brands that serve customers where they are, both online and in local communities.“ We are excited to bring a much-desired omni experience to our valuable customers.
