Agriculture is at the heart of global food security , and Agfinity Inc . is on a mission to protect it
Technology is developing significantly within the agronomy sector . Across the globe , commercial farms are adopting innovative practices to fight against disease , drought and infestation . In Indiana , for example , new methods have been developed to remove poisonous substances from sorghum . The unique grain has been a food and feed crop for thousands of years , yet it can become poisonous under drought or freezing conditions . The problem is dhurrin , which , when broken down , forms hydrogen cyanide .
Consequently , a professor of plant breeding and genetics , and Scientific Director of the Institute for Plant Sciences in the College of Agriculture , developed a dhurrin-free sorghum technology to minimize the impact . The S & W Seed Co . of Longmont , Colorado , has licensed the technology , which will be widely available to growers in 2023 .
In a time when globalization is becoming increasingly critical to food security , agriculture advocates are working harder than ever to provide much needed solutions ; one such company is Agfinity Incorporated ( Agfinity ).
As one of the strongest agricultural cooperatives in Colorado , Agfinity maintains its passion for making every acre count . By employing today ’ s technologies , the company is determined to deliver value to members and customers through the provision of quality products , exceptional service and industry-leading expertise .
Since 1905 , Agfinity has witnessed drastic changes , both throughout the agronomy sector , as well as within its own operation . One recent change was the appointment of Dan Riddle as CEO . The Agfinity Cooperative Board of Directors was pleased to announce and welcome Dan on 1st October 2022 . Since 1997 , Dan has been with the Agfinity
